L’Oréal Paris 2008 AFI Awards Screenings
The L’Oréal Paris 2008 AFI Awards Screenings successfully kicked off the AFI Awards season, by showcasing all the feature films in competition along with nominated documentaries, shorts and animations.
Gala opening nights launched the Screenings in each state. The evenings featured Mark Hartley’s much-anticipated documentary on ‘Ozploitation’ films, Not Quite Hollywood. Full of outrageous anecdotes, a large cast of local and international names and an infectious love of Australian movies, this film irreverently documents a unique era of Australian cinema. The feature films entered into the L'Oréal Paris 2008 AFI Awards were an eclectic mix of viewing with films from a broad range of genres being showcased at the screenings. There were 25 feature films vying for nominations in the L'Oréal Paris 2008 AFI Awards, an increase from recent years due to a change in entry criteria allowing a broader scope of films to enter.
